Assalamualaikum wrt.

Thank you for enrolling in the Labour Support and Comfort Measures Masterclass.

Congratulations! You have reached your final lap and about to embark in the next phase of your life. This resource is dedicated to all expectant couples in their Third Trimester and preparing for labour and birth.

This course aims to provide expectant busy couples with the basics in preparation for their labour and birth based on our E.M.P.O.W.E.R system. As 40WOB is a faith based childbirth provider, our course would include practices and terminologies commonly used by Muslims.

The course is not an end to itself. Thus, some of these topics require further exploration, adaptations and guidance to suit to your unique needs. This is where we provide additional coaching services should you need that extra guidance. Having said that, we believe that the information we provide will gear you towards achieving a step closer to building a solid Islamic parenting foundation thus giving you a heart start in your early parenting journey Biiznillah.

May Allah protect you and family from harm and may your birth be easy and your children healthy and pleasing to him. Ameen.

Objective of this course:

To equip you and your partner with the necessary skills which you can put to use BEFORE and DURING labour so as to achieve a comfortable and natural birth.

Without knowledge of how our bodies work, we often move or act in ways that actually hinder or fight the birth process. In fact we often cause extra pain for ourselves in labour. Sometimes the condition of our birthplace or conveniences of our birth attendants put us in circumstances that go against the natural physiology of labour and birth.

Understanding the mechanics of birth helps us to maximize the natural safe guards in our inbuilt designs of birth and also ensures that we work with rather than against our bodies during this extremely physical event.

In this way both mother and birth companion will be on the same page and will be able to work together as a coherent team to achieve a blessed start in life for the baby and the family.

Some of you might be wondering why do we need to attend a childbirth class or this comfort measure class?

Well, its for those who wish to

  • Create a supportive, understanding labour and birth support system that respects and honour their decisions
  • Learn to work with their body in labour
  • Manage /cope with labour pain naturally and to avoid the use of drugs
  • Exercise options involved in birthing
  • Achieve an EMPOWERED birth
  • Prepare themselves for a Blessed Parenting Journey

Well, most woman attend birth classes to learn how to work with their body in labour and to cope with labour pain naturally so as to avoid the use of drugs. Mothers who find themselves under the influence of medications and medical interventions not only have an increased risks for complications and side effects but they often also have a much more difficult recovery time. It can be difficult to enjoy and care for your new baby when you feel sick, injured or traumatised from the birth.

In this course you will learn to explore your option in birth on top of understanding how to prepare for labour, the labour and birth process and to sort out priorities for birth and after. Upon doing so, you will prepare for unforeseen events and  be better able to formulate a plan that best communicates the birth and postpartum experience you are hoping for. Ultimately aspiring for an empowered birth. And indirectly preparing themselves to be the best parent possible and subsequently charting a blessed parenting journey.

"Truly, the deeds are only according to the intentions, and to every man is that which he has intended. Whoever, therefore, undertakes his migration (hijra) for the sake of Allah and His Messenger’s will, his migration is for Allah and his Messenger; but whoever undertakes his migration for earthly life will achieve it, or because of a woman to marry her, his migration is for that for which he migrated.”
